A Credit is the unit of work in CitoRank. Credit usage varies by AI model and analysis depth:
  • A fast Lite citation check costs from 1 Credit.
  • The same check on Claude uses more — Claude charges us the most per query, and we pass that cost through honestly.
  • Recommendations scale with depth: a Basic recommendation costs from 1 Credit, a Focused one from 2 to 19 Credits per competitor depending on analysis tier, and a Full Comprehensive recommendation up to 93 Credits.
Your monthly plan gives you a predictable bundle to spread across all your keywords, and the dashboard shows the exact Credit cost of every keyword before you commit. You trade off width (more keywords, lighter analysis) against depth (fewer keywords, deeper analysis) with real numbers, not guesses.

There's no fixed keyword cap on any plan — Credits are the only meter. How far they go depends on how you spread them: citation checks are cheap (from 1 Credit), recommendations cost more (1 to 93 Credits per competitor, depending on depth), and running all three models costs more than running one.

A merchant tracking a handful of hero keywords weekly with monthly Focused recommendations uses far fewer Credits than one running Comprehensive Full analysis against five competitors. The dashboard shows the per-keyword monthly cost live as you configure each keyword, so you allocate your bundle deliberately rather than guessing — and you can change the mix at any time.

We offer three analysis depth tiers, set per keyword and per AI model:
  • Lite — fast checks using the model's internal knowledge. No web search. Best for high-volume routine monitoring.
  • Balanced — adds live web grounding (up to 5 web searches per analysis) plus authority audits across your top 2 authority platforms. Richer, evidence-backed recommendations.
  • Comprehensive — up to 7 web searches per analysis, authority audits across your top 5 platforms, and the longest, most detailed output. For the keywords where insight quality matters most.
Starter plan uses Lite only. Small Business adds Balanced. Large Store and Pro / Agency unlock all three including Comprehensive.

Your headline CitoRank Score on every plan, then — for every keyword and every AI model — your visibility (the share of answers that mention you at all), your best position, and your average position, tracked over time so you can see whether you're climbing. Alongside that you get share-of-voice against your named competitors, sentiment from across the web, your live Credit usage, and a prioritised list of recommendations — each one citing the real sources it was built from. On Comprehensive-tier plans you also get your Brand Web Presence index — a 0–100 read on your overall AI-visibility footprint.

Yes — every paid plan starts with a 10-day free trial you can cancel before you're billed, straight from your Shopify admin. There's no permanently free plan, because every Credit we run costs us real LLM spend — but the trial lets you see exactly what ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini say about your store before you pay a penny. (One-time top-up Credit bundles unlock once your trial converts.) After that, plans start at $25/mo, your first audit runs the same day, and there's no contract and no cancellation fee.

Pro / Agency gives you 25,000 Credits per month (2.5× the Large Store bundle), unlimited competitors per keyword, white-label client reports, and priority email support. It's built for agencies and multi-brand merchants who need to manage AI visibility across many product lines or many clients without juggling separate subscriptions.

Yes. Once your plan unlocks a tier, you set the analysis tier per keyword and per AI model. A Large Store customer can run Comprehensive deep analysis on 5 hero keywords and Lite light monitoring on 50 background keywords, all from the same monthly bundle. You allocate Credits where they'll matter most.

Two options. Auto top-ups are billed automatically through your Shopify subscription up to a cap you approve at install — perfect if you consistently need more than your base bundle. Or buy a one-time Top-Up Bundle (see the toggle above) that never expires — perfect for occasional spikes. Either way, your keywords keep running — nothing falls off a cliff.

One-time top-up bundles never expire. Monthly subscription Credits reset every billing cycle. Auto top-ups (billed via Shopify usage charges) also reset each cycle alongside your plan.

Your citation and audit data is never deleted — your full history stays on our servers for as long as your store is connected. What changes by plan is how far back you can look in your reports: Starter shows the last 6 months, Small Business the last 24 months, and Large Store the last 60 months. Upgrade and the older history you've already collected becomes visible again.

Different AI models charge us different per-query rates, and Claude is the most expensive of the three. We pass that cost through honestly in the Credit system so you only pay extra when you're using the more expensive models. If cost matters more than the specific model, weight your keywords towards ChatGPT or Gemini for cheaper per-keyword tracking.

Everything goes through your Shopify admin under Settings → Apps → CitoRank. Upgrade, downgrade or cancel anytime — no contracts, no cancellation fees, no email-support runaround. Your billing stays consolidated on your existing Shopify invoice.
